Thanaka 是缅甸女人特有的保养品。你如果去缅甸，你会发现到女人小孩，大大小小都会在脸上涂上Thanaka。到底什么是Thanaka？

這是緬甸獨有的持殊保養方法，是從樹皮加上水研磨成汁，叫作thanaka。用來作thanaka的樹通常是九里香屬(或叫月橘屬)或是木蘋果。這些植物萃取成份，其實也已經被很多開架或是專櫃品牌使用，具有鎮靜收歛效果。說它是「緬甸獨有」, 並不是因為這些樹只長在緬甸，而是很少有人會以如此「新鮮」的方式使用植物萃取!!一點點防劑都不用加，只要在需要時，備好一根樹枝，一小盆清水，一個研磨板，就可以當場DIY起來。當地人覺得，塗抹在臉上可以防曬、美白、抗老、保濕…反正功能很多。我想，防曬美白是有點機會，至於保濕嘛…不太可能，塗在臉上沒多久就乾到結塊囉!!
不過，由此可見，窮歸窮，皮膚保養還是不能不做!!
